Emily Bausback
With over 16 years of competitive figure skating experience, Emily won the National Championship at 17 before retiring from competition in 2022. Since then, she has transitioned to coaching, teaching Learn to Skate programs for the past three years and helping skaters of all ages build confidence and develop their skills on the ice. Alongside coaching, Emily is currently attending Simon Fraser University, pursuing a Business degree in Accounting.

Alexander Lawrence
Being on the ice for over 20 years and former National figure skating competitor, Alexander brings five years of coaching experience, including running Learn to Skate programs. This helps Alexander bring strong skills in developing effective training programs and managing large groups of different skill sets on the ice. His coaching approach and philosophy focuses on developing strong basic skills such as balance and control that help build a skaters confidence on the ice advancing their ability.

Dante DiMarino
A decade of hockey experience, Dante brings a deep understanding of the game and a strong passion for skating development. He has trained under several former professional players who are now elite level coaches, gaining valuable insight into high performance technique. Currently playing on the Pacific Junior Hockey League Dante brings a strong understanding of necessity of fundamentals for every player. Off the ice, Dante is a UBC Sauder school of Business admit and a consistent straight A student. Showcasing his discipline both academically and athletically.

Tristan Chan
With over a decade of elite-level hockey experience, Tristan brings both leadership and academic excellence to our team at BL Performance Skating. A former U18 AA Captain and current UBC Kinesiology student, he pairs his deep his deep understanding of hockey performance with a strong foundation in sports science. Passionate about building well-rounded players on the ice, Tristan’s deatiled coaching resonates with players at every level.

Chris Fan
(Center)
With 15 years of skating experience and a strong competitive background, Chris brings deep technical expertise and passion for teaching to our BL Performance Skating programs. A former Skate Canada BC/YK Provincial Team member with a top-20 National finish at the Junior level, Chris has trained and competed alongside Emily and Alex for over a decade. As a former Skate Canada coach, he has developed extensive knowledge in foundational skating technique and edge control. Chris brings detail focused coaching style and technical coaching background helping skaters build confidence and precision on the ice.

Tyler Lee
Tyler is a dedicated student-athlete with a strong passion for sport and competition. He brings over a decade of hockey playing experience and certification as a BC Hockey game official. He also competed in golf at a high level, which brings a unique cross-sport perspective into his coaching. Tyler takes a calm, detail-oriented approach on the ice and focuses on helping players build strong habits and confidence in their skating.
